How To: 4 Steps

  1. Find the LCD — smallest number both denominators divide into
  2. Rewrite each fraction with the LCD (multiply top & bottom by same number)
  3. Add or Subtract the numerators only
  4. Simplify your answer (divide top & bottom by GCD)
💡 Tip: To find LCD quickly, list multiples of the bigger denominator until one is also divisible by the smaller one.
